Kenya's well known Masai Mara Wildlife Reserve was established in 1961. There is no human settlement inside. The park is famous the world over for housing as many animals today as it did a century ago.
Called the "small Nairobi", the town of Nakuru, meaning a 'dusty place', is located in an environmentally sensitive area, sandwiched between Lake Nakuru National Park and the Menengai crater and its volcanic landscapes.
Mombasa is the largest port of East Africa. The old town contains remnants of its tumultuous past. But the new town promises modern-day comforts like restaurants, hotels, entertainment spots and great beaches on the fringe of the coast south of the town.
