Gulmarg truly lives up to its name which means a "meadow of flowers". This idyllic flower-laden meadow is at an altitude of 2,730 meters in the Baramulla district of Kashmir. Located 57 km from the state capital of Srinagar, Gulmarg is a saucer-shaped bowl, the towering peaks above the meadow covered with conifers, fir and pine trees. A clear day offers some breathtaking views from Gulmarg: rice fields, walnut clusters, pear and mulberry tress, and ridges and forests leading up to the snow slopes of Khilanmarg. The majestic Nanga Parbat peak is located 100 km away.
It is famous for Golf hikes and boasts of a beautiful highland golf course. It is a premier resort for winter sports in the country.

BY AIR: The nearest airport is in Srinagar which is 57 km away.
BY ROAD: Gulmarg is 57 km away from Srinagar. The journey takes around 2-2.5 hours. National Highway 1-A, connects Srinagar with Jammu (300 km). Jammu in turn is connected to many parts of Northern India, including New Delhi. Buses and all types of taxis to Srinagar are available from Jammu railway station and city centre.
BY RAIL: The nearest railhead is at Jammu. It is well connected to major cities in India.
