DAY 1: DELHI - DALHOUSIE (590 KMS) Drive to Dalhousie which was established in 1854 by the British Governor General Lord Dalhousie. Built around five hills Dalhousie is clothed in stately groves of deodar and oak. Its marvelous forests trails overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, spring and rivulets. Dalhousie still has a Raj touch and its colonial style buildings and houses bring back the flavours of a lost era. Check-in to your hotel. Overnight in Dalhousie.
DAY 2: DALHOUSIE After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing in Dalhousie. Dalhousie has charming colonial architecture, including some beautiful churches. Its location presents panoramic views of the plains where you can get to track the long silver line of river Ravi with all its twists and turns below. The spectacular snow-covered Dhauladhar mountains are also visible form this enchanting town. Overnight in Dalhousie.
DAY 3: DALHOUSIE - KHAJJIAR (26 KMS) After breakfast, you proceed to Khajjiar. Often called India's Switzerland, the exquisite glade of Khajjiar (1960m) has a circumference of about 5 km. Along its fringes, thick forests of deodar climb the slopes, the snow-line rests above these woods and in the centre of the glade, is a small lake fed by streams that traverse the green carpet. Khajjiar is part of the notified Kalatop - Khajjiar sanctuary. At Khajjiar there is a 12th century temple dedicated to Khajjair. Within the temple are lifesize wooden images of the five Pandava brothers. Overnight in Khajjiar.
DAY 4: KHAJJIAR - CHAMBA (24 KMS) After breakfast, proceed to Chamba. Chamba town (915m) stands on the right bank of the river Ravi. A former princely State, it dates back to the sixth century. It is well known for its splendid architecture and as the base for numerous excursions. It is also a district headquarters. Drive back to Khajjiar. Overnight in Khajjiar.
DAY 5: KHAJJIAR - DHARAMSHALA (150 KMS) After breakfast drive to Dharamshala. Dharamshala has everything for a perfect holiday. It is full of life and yet peaceful. Covering a wide area in the form of twin settlement, lower Dharamshala (1380m) is a busy commercial centre while upper Dharamshala (1830m) with the suburbs of Mcleodganj and Forsytheganj retains a British flavour and colonial lifestyle. Overnight in Dharamshala.
DAY 6: DHARAMSHALA After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing. Mcleodganj is a famous little town of Dharamshala also known as "Little Tibet" HH the Dalai Lama resides here. At the start of Mcleodganj is a small bazaar selling a variety of Tibetan handicrafts and artifact. At the end of the spur lies the Namgyal Monastery. The external wall is surrounded by rows of prayer wheels. Within the monastery are large idols of Buddha, Valokteshwara and Padamsambhava and walls are lined with Thankas. The charming church of St John in the Wilderness is located here and is the final resting place of Lord Elgin, British Viceroy of India during the 19th century. Numerous ancient temples like Jwalamukhi, Brijeshwari and Chamunda lie on the plains below Dharamshala. Overnight in Dharamshala.
DAY 7: DHARAMSHALA - DELHI (520 KMS) After breakfast drive back to Delhi. Transfer to the station/airport for your onward journey.
